Community Activism:

While managing her optometric practice, Dr. Ong completed her term as Chair for the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women in 2015. Currently, she is a member of the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board, the Board of Directors of the East Bay Women’s Political Caucus, the Board of Directors of the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Bay Chapter of the Sierra Club and the Board of Directors of the Alameda Hospital Foundation. She completed her term on the Board of Ruby’s Place– a women and children’s shelter for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking and currently serves as the Chair of the Community Health Advisory Committee for the Eden Township Healthcare District. Both our staff and Dr. Ong are actively involved in giving back to the community through their volunteer roles because of our commitment to a healthy community within and outside of our office.
